Shared Spaces in Academia and Employment
From integration to inclusion
About the Initiative
The integration of Arab youth into employment and Israeli society requires significant strengthening of shared spaces. The approach is shifting from integration to inclusion, viewing quantitative participation as necessary but insufficient to bring about equality. While integration is often measured by quantitative participation in academia and employment, inclusion addresses the quality of that participation – sense of belonging, cultural recognition and the ability to influence.
This initiative seeks to strengthen academic and employment settings in which Arab youth are not only present, but active partners in shaping shared spaces and achieving full participation in Israeli society. It will provide diversity training, relationship management training, and tools for organisations to empower Arab students and employees.
