2026 Rothschild Prize Awarded at Ceremony at the National Library in Jerusalem

The 2026 Rothschild Prize was awarded to six recipients for their achievements in research and creative endeavour. For the first time since the prize was established in 1959, the fields recognised were expanded to include dance and classical music alongside the humanities and social sciences.

The 2026 Rothschild Prize ceremony took place at the National Library of Israel in Jerusalem, with the prize recipients in attendance. The prize recognises outstanding achievements and significant contributions to research and creative endeavour.

This year, the prize was awarded to six recipients: choreographer Yasmeen Godder in the field of dance; the Jerusalem Quartet in classical music; Prof. Dror Wahrman and Prof. Ishay Rosen-Zvi in the humanities; and Prof. Ran Spiegler and Prof. Maya Tamir in the social sciences.

Since its inception in 1959, the Rothschild Prize has reflected Yad Hanadiv’s longstanding commitment to recognising academic excellence in Israel. This year’s expansion of the prize to include dance and classical music also acknowledges the contribution of Israeli artists to cultural life in Israel and around the world.

Yad Hanadiv congratulates these newest laureates on their distinguished contributions to their respective fields and wishes them continued success in their meaningful and productive work.
