Rothschild Fellowship
The Rothschild Fellowship programme was established in 1979 to help young scholars of outstanding academic merit and potential to advance in their respective fields. Up to twelve Rothschild Fellowships are awarded each year in the Natural, Exact or Life Sciences and Engineering and up to eight in the Humanities and Social Sciences. Fellowships are provided for one year of postdoctoral study and research abroad. Recipients may choose to spread the funds over a two year period.
How to Apply
Nominations for Fellowships are submitted to the Foundation only by Israeli universities. Candidates must comply with the requirements and application process as determined by the nominating university.
Who Can Apply
Candidates must be permanent residents of Israel, who received a PhD at an accredited institution of higher learning in Israel no more than three years prior to submission of the application. Tenured faculty at Israeli universities are not eligible to apply. Doctoral candidates conducting research in the Humanities and Social Sciences at Israeli Universities will be considered for a Fellowship in exceptional cases.
