Hannah Rothschild is Chair of the Board of Trustees of Yad Hanadiv, the fifth family member to hold the position since the late 19th century. She is an author, film-maker, philanthropist and company director, and was the first woman to chair the National Gallery. She has made documentary films for the BBC, HBO and PBS and has written for The New York Times, The Guardian and The Times.
Her biography and award-winning novels have been translated into 17 languages. In 2024, she was appointed Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire for services to charity, arts and culture. She was previously awarded a CBE in 2018. In 2021, she was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
