About the Prize

Since 1959, Yad Hanadiv has proudly recognized outstanding scholars at the forefront of science and humanities, as part of its mission to help world-class academic research thrive in Israel. Prizes are awarded biennially in recognition of outstanding scientific achievements, breakthroughs or discoveries in the following disciplines: Mathematics, Computer Sciences, Engineering, Life Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Physical Sciences, Social Sciences, Jewish Studies and Humanities.

Application Information

Who Can Apply?

Candidates must be full-time faculty at Israeli institutions of higher learning. Emeritus faculty are not eligible to receive the Prize.

Candidates must be permanent residents of Israel.

How to Apply?

Nominations for 2026 Rothschild Prize in the Humanities and Social Sciences are now closed.
Nominations for the 2028 Rothschild Prize in Mathematics, Computer Sciences, Engineering, Life Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Chemical Sciences and Physical Sciences will open in 2027.
