Benjamin Weiss, Professor at the Institute of Mathematics of The Hebrew University, is regarded as one of the world's leading specialists in Ergodic Theory. His research has revealed unexpected connections between Ergodic Theory and combinatorics and his work on the mathematical characterization of randomness has had implications not only for mathematical theory but also for the broader understanding of the phenomenon of randomness.
